Glubochek

Glubochek (Hlybochok) in Ukraine is a Cucuteni-Trypillia mega-settlement dating to approximately 4000 BC, covering 132 hectares. It belongs to a network of massive proto-urban settlements concentrated in the Southern Bug-Dnieper interfluve, which represent the largest known settlements in 4th millennium BC Europe. These Trypillia megasites featured concentric circuits of houses surrounding large open inner spaces, and are among 2,440 Cucuteni-Trypillia settlements discovered across Moldova and Ukraine. The culture's settlements demonstrate early forms of independent urban development in Chalcolithic Eastern Europe.
