Kalos Limen

Kalos Limen ('Charming Harbor') was an ancient Greek colony on the west coast of the Crimean Peninsula, founded in the 4th century BC [1] [2]. The fortified city covered about 4 hectares and served as part of the Chersonesos city-state's western territories [1] [3]. In the 2nd century BC it was captured by Scythians [1] [2]. A State Historic-Archaeological Preserve was established at the site near modern Chernomorskoye in 1997 [1] [4].
