Shypyntsi (Ukrainian: Шипинці) is a village in Chernivtsi Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast, southwestern Ukraine, situated on the left bank of the Prut River in the Dniester Hills region[1]. The site contains ancient ruins of a Cucuteni-Trypillian culture settlement dating to the 5th millennium to early 4th millennium BC (c. 5000–3500 BC)[1][2]. Archaeological excavations have uncovered remains of this Neolithic-Eneolithic civilization known for its large settlements and elaborate ritual practices[2]. The village lies approximately 30 km northwest of Chernivtsi and about 530 km southwest of Kyiv[1].
