Ercavica

Ercavica was an important Roman city, flourishing from the 2nd century BC until the 1st century AD[1]. The ruins sit on the hill of Santaver near Cañaveruelas, occupying a strategic promontory above the Guadiela River[1]. During the Sertorian War (80-72 BC), Ercávica served as a military camp[2]. The city is first mentioned in connection with the campaign of 179 BC[2].
