Segobriga

Segóbriga was a major Celtic and later Roman city strategically located on a hill near modern Saelices in central Spain. The settlement flourished from approximately 500 BC through the 1st century AD. Archaeological excavations have uncovered significant structures including a theater, temple, baths, and extensive urban infrastructure. The site was declared a National Monument on June 3, 1931, and is now protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural. Today, the excavated remains are preserved within the Segobriga Archaeological Park, making it one of the most important archaeological sites in Castilla-La Mancha.[1]
