Roman Vaults of Nuncio Viejo

Located beneath Calle Nuncio Viejo, these Roman vaults consist of a system of walls and barrel vaults dating to the Roman era according to archaeological studies [1] [2]. They sit near two of the city's most important Roman remains: the Roman baths and cisterns of the water distribution network [3] [4]. Restored and enhanced by the Toledo Consortium by April 2008, they are now accessible to visitors through the "Unknown Heritage" (Patrimonio Desconocido) guided routes programme [1] [5] [6].
