Karaburma

A major Celtic archaeological site in Belgrade, Serbia, where necropolises of the Scordisci tribe were discovered. Over 100 La Tene culture graves have been excavated, containing iron swords, spears, shields, fibulae, glass beads, and wheel-thrown pottery dating from the late 4th to the 1st century BC. The Scordisci established the fortified settlement of Singidunum here around 279 BC, making it one of the earliest known settlements on the territory of modern Belgrade. The site is crucial for understanding Celtic expansion into the central Balkans.
