PortugalThe Roman Dam of Fonte Coberta is an archaeological site in São Sebastião, Lagos, Algarve, Portugal [1]. Built in the 1st century AD during Romanization of Hispania [1], the dam features a wall approximately 70 metres long and 2.6–2.7 metres thick [1]. It is a straight, rectangular-section wall constructed of homogeneous stone blocks mortared with opus caementicium [1]. The structure served as a reservoir for the surrounding Roman settlement.
