The Vale Maria do Meio Cromlech is a megalithic stone circle in the Evora district of Portugal's Alentejo region, dating to the 6th-5th millennium BC. Identified in 1993 by Manuel Calado's team from the University of Lisbon, excavations in 1995 revealed 34 granite menhirs arranged in an open horseshoe roughly 37 by 25 metres. At least two stones bear engravings of lunar crescents and staffs, similar to those at the nearby Almendres Cromlech. Classified as a National Monument, the stones were re-erected in 1995 using Neolithic-era techniques with ropes, logs, and 70 volunteers.
