Uch

Uch (Uch Sharif) is a historic city in Pakistan's Punjab province that may have been founded as Alexandria on the Indus by Alexander the Great during his 4th-century BC invasion[1]. It was an early stronghold during the Muslim conquest of the subcontinent and became a regional metropolitan centre between the 12th and 17th centuries[1]. The city is known as the home of the Naqvi/Bukharis after their migration from Bukhara, and it served as a refuge for Muslim religious scholars fleeing persecution[1].
