Dabarkot

Dabarkot (Dabar Kot) is a large tell site of the Indus Civilization in the Loralai district of Balochistan, Pakistan, dating back to the fifth millennium BC. The mound measures approximately 457 metres in diameter, indicating a settlement of considerable size that functioned as an important trading post. Excavations recovered diverse artifacts including stone beads, copper pieces, a gold pin, sheet metal, and large mud bricks, all showing a clear Harappan connection. The site is under federal protection under Pakistan's Antiquities Act of 1975. Systematic excavation of Dabarkot has been deemed essential for understanding Balochistan's archaeological sequence.
