Salamgarh

Salamgarh, also known as Islamgarh, is an old fortified settlement now a neighbourhood of Jalalpur Jattan in Punjab, Pakistan. Local traditions attribute the fort's construction to Chandragupta Maurya around 300 BC, though this claim lacks epigraphic corroboration or comprehensive archaeological verification. The fort subsequently passed through the hands of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Afghan ruler Ahmed Shah Abdali, and Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who used it as a mint in 1832. Only deteriorated remnants of the fortification survive today.
