Sirsukh

Sirsukh is the last of the three great ancient cities of Taxila, founded during the Kushan era after 80 AD in Punjab, Pakistan. Its massive defensive walls stretch approximately 5 km in perimeter and stand about 5.4 metres thick, laid out in a Central Asian style with rounded bastions in ashlar masonry. The city was abandoned when the White Huns invaded Punjab at the end of the 5th century AD. Designated part of the Taxila UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980, it remains largely unexcavated due to high water table issues.
