Gondrani (Shehr-e-Roghan)

Gondrani, also known as Shehr-e-Roghan, is an ancient cave city in Lasbela District, Balochistan, Pakistan, located about 20 km north of Bela. The caves are carved into conglomerate rock at multiple levels and interconnected by pathways, spanning roughly 3 km. Historians believe the site was an 8th-century Buddhist monastery. Individual caves stand just over 6 feet high, with hearths and wall niches for lamps. Of the approximately 1,500 caves reported during British rule, only about 500 survive due to erosion and neglect.
