Sokhta Koh

Sokhta Koh is a Harappan (Indus Valley) settlement on the Makran coast in Balochistan, Pakistan, located about 24 km north of Pasni [1]. First surveyed by American archaeologist George F. Dales in 1960 while exploring estuaries along the coast, the site provides evidence of overseas commerce during the Mature Harappan period [1]. A similar site at Sutkagen-dor lies about 48 km inland along the Dasht River. Based on pottery styles, the settlement is dated to the Mature Harappan (Integration) Era of the Indus Valley Civilization [1].
