Roman Temple Qsarnaba

Qasr el Banat ("Castle of Virgins") is a 2nd-century Roman temple in Qsarnaba, 14.5 km northeast of Zahle in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. It contains the second-widest Roman temple in Lebanon, with features resembling the Great Temple at Niha, retaining its huge stairways and foundations. The temple was built on a high platform with Corinthian columns, and only the top level has been uncovered -- the rest is believed buried beneath the village. Nearby lies al-Maqtaa, a Roman stone quarry.
