Parco Archeologico Antica Norba

Norba is an ancient Latin city situated above the modern town of Norma in Lazio, Italy, at over 460 metres elevation overlooking the Pontine Marshes. Founded as a Roman colony in 492 BC to guard against the Volsci, it became an important fortress and member of the Latin League. The site is renowned for its well-preserved cyclopean polygonal walls extending over 2.5 km, constructed with massive limestone blocks without mortar. It features the monumental Porta Maggiore gateway and temple foundations including one dedicated to Juno Lucina. The city was destroyed by Sulla's troops in 82 BC during the Roman civil wars.
