Necropoli Etrusca di Norchia

Norchia is an ancient Etruscan city and necropolis near Vetralla along the Via Clodia [1]. Inhabited since the Bronze Age, it reached its peak between the 4th and 2nd centuries BC [1] [2]. The rock-cut tombs, carved from tuff cliffs, include distinctive dice-shaped tombs and Doric temple-facade tombs with carvings of processions, Etruscan demons, and Gorgon heads [1] [3] [4]. The plateau above preserves ruins of a medieval castle and the church of San Pietro [3].
