Etruscan Pyramid of Bomarzo

A megalithic rock-cut monument carved from a single block of volcanic tuff near Viterbo, Italy, standing approximately 5 meters high with five carefully carved steps. Dating to the 7th-6th century BC, the pyramid is believed to have served as an Etruscan sacrificial altar used by haruspices for divination rituals. Channels carved into the rock may have drained liquids during animal sacrifices. The site was rediscovered in the 20th century after centuries of overgrowth, located in a valley rich with Etruscan tombs and inscriptions near the famous Sacred Grove of Bomarzo.
