Turoe Stone

The Turoe Stone is a 1.2-metre tall granite stone decorated in La Tène Celtic art, located in Bullaun, County Galway, Ireland, 6 km north of Loughrea off the R350 road[1]. It dates to approximately 100 BC–AD 100, placing it in the Iron Age[1]. The stone stands on the lawn of Turoe House in a concrete base surrounded by a metal cattle grill, and is registered as National Monument of Ireland No. 327[1]. As of 2025, the stone was relocated for conservation work to an Office of Public Works depot in Athenry[2].
