IrelandA Bronze Age stone circle on the Beara peninsula in County Cork, formally named Canfea but commonly called Ardgroom. Built c. 1000-1500 BC, the circle comprises 11 stones, 9 still upright, with an associated standing stone to the east. Unusually, its stones taper to points and the axial stone is set with its long axis vertical. The circle commands fine views over Bantry Bay and is considered one of Ireland's most impressive prehistoric stone circles.
