Lesche of the Knidians

The Lesche of the Knidians was a clubhouse (lesche) at the Sanctuary of Apollo in Delphi, built in the second quarter of the 5th century BC [1]. Today the structure is mostly destroyed, with only architectural fragments surviving [1]. It housed two renowned paintings by Thasian artist Polygnotus: the Capture of Troy and the Nekyia, which were major works of Greek panel painting [1]. The rectangular building featured a clerestory along its western side and likely had a tripartite interior layout [1]. In the 4th century BC, a wall was added along the southern side to display votive offerings [1].
