A Minoan cemetery in southern Crete featuring two tholos (circular) tombs dating from the Early Minoan II to Middle Minoan period, roughly 2600-1700 BC. Tholos A, about 4.85 m in diameter, was first excavated in 1942 during the German occupation. Tholos B, a larger complex of 25 by 14 m, contained hundreds of drinking vessels suggesting communal funerary rituals, larnakes (clay coffins), and an ossuary for secondary burials. The site provides key insights into early Minoan burial practices and social organization.
