Amfissa

Ancient city in central Greece and capital of the Ozolian Locrians, with a history spanning roughly 3,000 years [1]. Recent excavations uncovered a Mycenaean tomb in use from the 13th to 11th century BC [1] [2]. Philip II of Macedon destroyed the city in 338 BC during the Fourth Sacred War [1]. Known as Salona during the Middle Ages, it remains the seat of the municipality of Delphi in Phocis [1].
