Agios Vasileios, Laconia

A Mycenaean palace complex near Xerokambi in Laconia, Greece, discovered after a Linear B tablet was found accidentally near a Byzantine chapel in 2008. Excavations revealed a megaron hall, colonnaded courtyard, fresco fragments, and a bull's-head rhyton across a 3.5-hectare site. The palace housed Laconia's only known Linear B archive and is considered the region's missing administrative center before the rise of Sparta. It was destroyed by fire during the LH IIIB period.
