Midford Castle is a Grade I listed Gothic-style folly built in 1775 for Henry Disney Roebuck, designed by architect John Carter. The castle features a distinctive club-shaped plan resembling the clubs suit from playing cards, with three round towers joined together. The property includes Grade II* listed stables, a chapel, a priory ruin, and a gatehouse. Notable owners include the Conolly family (1810-1901), novelist Isabel Colegate, and actor Nicolas Cage, who purchased it for five million pounds in 2007.
