Lismore Fields is a prehistoric settlement near the River Wye in Buxton, Derbyshire, discovered in 1984 by the Trent and Peak Archaeological Trust while searching for a Roman road. Excavations revealed a Mesolithic timber roundhouse and two Early Neolithic longhouses, among the best-preserved examples in Britain. Building 1 dates to 3800-3650 BC and Building 2 to 3650-3350 BC. The site yielded one of the largest cereal assemblages from any Early Neolithic site in England, possibly representing the earliest evidence of cereal cultivation in the British Isles. It is a protected Scheduled Monument.
