Arbor Low

Arbor Low is a Neolithic henge monument in the Derbyshire Peak District, England, considered the most important prehistoric site in the East Midlands. Its bank and ditch were constructed in the Late Neolithic period, with approximately 50 limestone blocks added before 2000 BC forming an egg-shaped circle. All stones now lie flat. A central cove of six smaller blocks once stood upright. Linked by an earthen ridge to the earlier Gib Hill barrow 320 metres away, it was among the first monuments protected under the 1882 Ancient Monuments Act.
