Keal Cotes

Keal Cotes is a small village in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, with archaeological evidence of Roman occupation from the 1st to 4th century AD. A 1960s excavation and field walk uncovered tessellated mosaic floor tiles and roof tiles indicating a substantial Roman villa or high-status Romano-British farmhouse -- the only one found in Lincolnshire. Centuries of agricultural activity have plowed out further excavation possibilities, though cropmark outlines of an extensive dwelling remain visible in aerial photographs.
