Castle Hill, Huddersfield

Castle Hill is a scheduled ancient monument in Almondbury overlooking Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The hilltop has been occupied for at least 4,000 years [1]. The site comprises a Late-Bronze Age or Early-Iron Age univallate hillfort with a single raised bank, overlain by a later Iron Age multivallate hillfort [1]. A 12th-century motte-and-bailey castle and the remains of a deserted medieval village also occupy the summit [1].
