Pyramid of Userkaf

The Pyramid of Userkaf is the ruined tomb of the founder of Egypt's 5th Dynasty (c. 2494 BC), located at Saqqara northeast of Djoser's step pyramid[1]. Built of dressed stone with a rubble core, it now appears as a conical hill, earning the local name El-Haram el-Maharbish ("Heap of Stone")[1]. First identified as a royal pyramid by western archaeologists in the 19th century, the structure reflects the early transition from step pyramids to true smooth-sided pyramids[1].
