Pyramid of Sahure

The Pyramid of Sahure is the funerary monument of Fifth Dynasty pharaoh Sahure (r. 2465-2325 BC), located in Abusir. [1] Constructed in the late 26th to 25th century BC, it initiated a period of pyramid building by his successors on a site earlier used by Userkaf for his sun temple. [1][2] The complex was first properly excavated by Ludwig Borchardt between March 1907 and 1908, who later published the definitive study Das Grabdenkmal des Königs Sahu-Re between 1910 and 1913. [1]
