Klimonas

Klimonas is a Pre-Pottery Neolithic A site at Ayios Tychonas in the Limassol District of Cyprus, occupied between 9100 and 8600 BCE. It is the oldest known farming village in the Mediterranean islands, demonstrating that early cultivators migrated to Cyprus shortly after the emergence of agriculture in the Near East. The settlement features over 20 circular dwellings (3-6m diameter) and a large communal structure approximately 10 metres across. Inhabitants cultivated emmer wheat, hunted endemic wild boar, and kept domestic dogs and cats.
