Tiwanaku

Tiwanaku is a Pre-Columbian archaeological site in western Bolivia, near Lake Titicaca, about 70 kilometers from La Paz[1]. Surface remains cover around 4 square kilometers (2.4 sq mi) and include decorated ceramics, monumental structures, and megalithic blocks[1]. It was one of the largest sites in South America and has been conservatively estimated to have supported 10,000 to 20,000 inhabitants around AD 800[1].
