Aesica (modern Great Chesters) was a Roman fort on Hadrian's Wall, situated 2.4 km (1.5 mi) north of Haltwhistle in Northumberland, England [1]. It served as the ninth fort along the Wall, positioned between Vercovicium (Housesteads) to the east and Banna (Birdoswald) to the west [1].
