Hadži-Prodan's Cave

The Hadži-Prodan's Cave is a Paleolithic archaeological site and national natural monument in the village Raščići, 7 km from Ivanjica in western Serbia[1]. The entrance sits at 630 m altitude, 40 m above the Rašćanska river valley, facing south[1]. This 345 m cave formed in Late Cretaceous Senonian limestone[1]. Excavations yielded prehistoric pottery shards, Pleistocene faunal fossils including Cave bear remains, and Iron Age artifacts[1]. The cave is named for Hadži-Prodan, a 19th-century Serbian revolutionary[1].
