Trojanov Grad

Trojanov Grad (Town of Trajan) is a Roman fortress dating to the 3rd century AD, situated on Mount Cer in central Serbia. The stronghold was part of a defensive network connected by a Roman road along the mountain ridge to the nearby fortress of Kosanin Grad. Today only remains of one defensive wall survive. Local legend attributes the fortress to the mythical Slavic Emperor Trajan, whose five daughters supposedly had towns named after them in the region.
