Tigranakert of Artsakh is a ruined Armenian city dating to the Hellenistic period, located in the Aghdam District of present-day Azerbaijan[1]. It was founded during the reign of Tigranes the Great[1]. The city bears the king's name, with "Artsakh" referring to the historical province of Artsakh within the ancient Kingdom of Armenia[1]. It represents one of several Tigranakert cities established across the Armenian plateau during this period[1].
