Arna, Greece

A village on the eastern slopes of the Taygetus mountains in Laconia at 700-850 m elevation. At the nearby Arkina site, Mycenaean-era chamber tombs and beehive tombs have been found, along with ceramic artifacts from multiple periods. The finds suggest Arna served as a waypoint on the ancient road connecting Sparta and Messenia through the Taygetus range, indicating continuous habitation since at least the Mycenaean period.
