Villa Romana de Río Verde is a Roman villa on the coast of Marbella, Spain, at the mouth of the Río Verde river[1]. The site represents the pars urbana (residential section) of an affluent coastal villa, while the pars rustica (farm section) would have been dedicated to marine exploitation and fish salting[1]. This economic activity was highly profitable for coastal settlements in the Baetic region during the Roman era[1]. Evidence includes decorative elements on culinary mosaics that adorn the residential area of the villa[1].
