Cueva de los Murciélagos

Cueva de los Murcielagos is a cave system in the Sierras Subbeticas near Zuheros, Cordoba, Spain [1]. Evidence of human occupation reaches back 35,000 years to the Middle Palaeolithic [1] [2]. Neolithic deposits yielded decorated ceramics, stone and bone tools, and ornaments made from seashells [1] [2]. The cave contains schematic rock art, with over thirty quadrupeds identified as ibex shown in dynamic positions [2]. A second art zone features anthropomorphic figures [2]. The cave hosts one of the largest bat colonies in Andalusia [1].
