Dolmen of Menga

The Dolmen of Menga is one of Europe's largest megalithic structures, a Neolithic burial tumulus near Antequera, Spain, built c. 3750-3650 BC. It measures 27.5 m long, 6 m wide, and 3.5 m high, constructed from 32 megaliths with the largest weighing 180 tonnes and roof stones reaching 250 tonnes each. Uniquely for European dolmens, its passage aligns northeast toward the Pena de los Enamorados peak, where the summer solstice sunrise shines directly along the corridor. A central well shaft extends 19.5 m deep. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016.
