The Puente de Alcántara is a Roman arch bridge in Toledo, Spain, spanning the Tagus River at the foot of the Castillo de San Servando. Originally built with three arches when the Romans founded Toletum, it was rebuilt by the Moors in the 10th century, with an inscription recording its completion in 997 AD. The central arch rises over 28 metres above the river. Damaged by floods under Alfonso X, it was restored with a defensive tower later adorned by the Catholic Monarchs. Declared a national monument in 1921.
