Huéscar

Huescar (Latin: Osca) is a municipality in Granada province, Spain, with settlement evidence spanning over 600,000 years in the surrounding Altiplano area. Under Roman rule, Osca was a town of the Turdetani people within the province of Hispania Baetica, and three Roman inscriptions have been preserved in the town. The main landmark is the Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor, designed by Diego de Siloe in the 16th century and designated a national monument. Huescar lies within the Granada Geopark (UNESCO, 2020) and serves as the start of the 143 km "First Settlers Great Path" trekking route.
