Tolmo de Minateda

Tolmo de Minateda is a multi-period archaeological park in Hellin, Albacete, Spain, occupying a 7-hectare rocky promontory at a strategic crossroads between the Meseta Central and the Mediterranean coast [1]. Inhabited continuously for over 3,000 years from the Bronze Age through the Islamic period, it became the Roman municipium in 9 BC [1] [2]. It later housed the Visigothic episcopal see of Eio with a basilica complex [1]. The nearby Minateda rock shelter preserves prehistoric paintings designated as UNESCO World Heritage [3].
