Cave of Bedmar

The Cueva de Bedmar is an archaeological site in the Magina mountain range natural park near Bedmar, Jaen province, Spain, with occupation spanning from the Middle Paleolithic to the Neolithic. Discovered by FIPEH (Fundacion Instituto de Investigacion y Evolucion Humana), the first excavation campaign in 2015 yielded over 600 lithic artifacts, mainly Mousterian flint tools, suggesting the site was dedicated to flint knapping. A second excavation in 2016 opened a new area called Cueva del Portillo within the complex.
