Castulo

Castulo was an ancient Iberian settlement in the province of Jaén, Andalusia, Spain, near modern Linares, occupied from the Neolithic period [1] [2]. By the 6th century BC, it served as the chief settlement of the Oretani people [1] [2]. According to Roman sources, the princess Himilce married Carthaginian general Hannibal [1] [3]. Castulo later became a Christian bishopric, now a Latin titular see [1].
