Barranco León

Barranco León is an archaeological site in Orce, Andalusia, Spain dating to 1.2–1.4 million years ago, representing one of the oldest hominin occupations in Western Europe [1]. The site is famous for the discovery of a milk tooth belonging to a child of approximately 10 years old, which was identified as the earliest anatomical evidence of humans in Western Europe [1]. Excavations have also revealed Oldowan stone tools [2].
