Regional Museum of Ancash

Founded in 1935, the Museo Arqueológico de Áncash "Augusto Soriano Infante" (formerly Museo Regional de Áncash) houses one of South America's most important collections of ancient stone sculptures, primarily from the Recuay culture (400 BC–600 AD) and Wari culture (600–1100 AD). Located in Huaraz opposite the Plaza de Armas, the museum also displays pre-Columbian mummies and trepanned skulls [1][2].
