Auquin Punta

Late Intermediate Period funerary site at 3,932 m elevation in the Huanuco Region of Peru, Huamalies Province, above the village of Carhuapata [1] [2]. The 3-hectare site on the slope and summit of Auquin hill features cylindrical chullpa tombs approximately 1.5 m high with trapezoidal south-facing openings and false-vault roofing [2]. The summit holds quadrangular and circular structures with interior niches [2]. Exterior walls display successive stone cornices in two to three levels [2].
